SCHOOLchildren from Prestwick were treated to a crash course in cookery last week, courtesy of Buzzworks Holdings.
The Ayrshire-based multiple operator invited the kids, from Glenburn Primary in Prestwick, to its bakery facility, Bakehouse, where they were taught about the importance of cookery skills and fresh ingredients as well as the different careers available in hospitality.
It wasn’t all theory, though, as they were also able to create and decorate cupcakes and crispy cake.
The trip was organised as part of the group’s #LoveFoodFeelGood campaign, which introduces children to cookery skills.
Holli Kerr, general manager of Buzzworks venue Elliots, said: “It has been a fantastic opportunity to get the schoolchildren in today to talk about cooking, baking and hospitality as a career.”
