Makeover for Paisley pub

A PAISLEY pub is preparing for a new lease of life after a £160,000 refurbishment.

Harvies Bar on Glasgow Road has been taken over by new licensees Carol Duffy, who also runs The Argosy Bar on Paisley Road West, and Paisley local Chris McCrossen.

The refurbishment, which began last week, will see the pub’s windows enlarged and new signage and lighting installed. Inside, the pub will be refitted in a lighter and more contemporary style, while retaining original features such as pillars, coving and the wooden bar.

The pub – which is leased from Heineken-owned Star Pubs & Bars – is scheduled to reopen in December.

Duffy said: “Chris and I want to bring it back to life, and make it family-friendly and welcoming to all.”
