Foreign exchange for city bar

Edinburgh

Two bartenders from Edinburgh cocktail venue Bramble switched places with fellow mixologists from Taipei bar Indulge for four days last week.

The international bartending exchange was part of whisky brand The Naked Grouse’s LiBARating Swap, which is designed to encourage bartenders to experiment with the blended malt and immerse them in a new location to inspire them to innovate with whisky cocktails.

Now in its second year, the programme will see a further eight bartenders from some of the world’s best bars changing places, hosting a workshop before creating their own serves at their host bars.

Elaine Miller, global marketing manager at Naked Grouse, said: “The recipe is simple – we invite some of the most talented bartenders in our global markets to explore a new city and use the inspiration that comes with that adventure to showcase innovative flavour explorations of whisky. It’s about investing in the experts who bring our whisky to life on a day-to-day basis through the art of mixology.”
