GUESTS at a luxury hotel in Edinburgh will be able to organise aspects of their stay from their mobiles, thanks to a new app.

The software, for new town hotel Nira Caledonia, allows guests to request early check-ins, make dinner reservations at the hotel’s restaurant and provides advice on the best things to see and do in the city.

The new app also allows the hotel to keep its guest directory up to date without the need and cost of having it reprinted.

Chris Lynch, Nira Caledonia’s general manager, said: “While the app will never replace our total focus on providing a personal service that is bespoke to every guest, we love the fact that we have come up with an innovative way to ensure they make the most of their stay.”
