DUNDEE craft brewer 71 Brewing has grand designs for its future after being confirmed as one of the main drinks suppliers to the new V&A Dundee.
The brewer’s signature beer, 71 Lager, will be on tap in the museum’s restaurant – Tatha Bar & Kitchen – as well as in bottles in the V&A’s design-focused shop.
The brewery – said to be the first in the city in nearly 50 years – was opened last year in a converted industrial warehouse on the city’s Bellfield Street by Dundonian duo Duncan Alexander and Mark Griffiths.
Seven beers are now continuously brewed on-site at the 2400-litre capacity brewery weekly, ranging from 71 Lager to IPA Mandarina Sky.
“Working with V&A Dundee is a big moment for us,” said Alexander, 71 Brewing’s managing director.
“It was one of the reasons we wanted to set up in Dundee initially and now we’ve come full circle by being selected as one of their suppliers.
“It’s really great news for everyone who has worked so hard on building the 71 Brewing brand.”
