A FORMER church and World Heritage site that has lain empty for ten years in Edinburgh is to be transformed into a restaurant celebrating the traditional British ‘chippy’.
The 270-cover old town venue is the latest eatery from the city’s Vittoria Group and will showcase chip shop-style dishes and contemporary versions of them to both locals and tourists.
Tony Crolla, Vittoria’s chairman, said his family had a vision to open a restaurant of this kind in the capital for many years.
He added: “This concept will be fun, relaxed and affordable. Our focus as ever with our restaurants is fresh quality food available for all.”
