Funding is music to festivals’ ears

THIRTEEN events across Scotland are set for a funding boost as part of a VisitScotland scheme to develop events outside of Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Music festival Bowfest, which takes place at Inveraray Castle in Argyll (pictured) in September, was awarded £6000 from a fund of £133,030 from EventScotland, while the Jura Music Festival, also held in September, has received an £8000 share of the cashpot in its 25th anniversary year. The sum has been allocated to new infrastructure, improved transport provision and marketing.

VisitScotland regional director, David Adams McGilp, said investment such as this is “key to ensuring we create world class events and experiences for our visitors so they keep coming here year after year”.
