THE maker of Kirkjuvagr Gin, Orkney Distilling, has opened its new distillery and visitor centre in the island’s capital, Kirkwall.
Located on the town’s harbour front, the distillery has brought six new jobs to the island and also includes a gin and coffee bar, shop and events venue.
It is hoped the site, which is said to have been planned for two years, will attract additional visitors to the islands.
Stephen Kemp, the company’s managing director, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our new home and can’t wait to share it with the community, and many visitors to Orkney.”
