Pub charity push pasta be good

A GLASGOW publican has put charity support on the menu, and is calling on operators across Scotland to get involved too.

Marc Ferrier, co-owner of The Admiral on Waterloo Street, has launched Mind over Macca, which will see 50p from every dish of macaroni cheese sold in the pub during this month’s World Cup donated to the Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH).

Since Marc launched the initiative, operators of around 20 other venues across the city have got on board to run similar schemes; and he is calling on more licensees to do the same.

“It just started as an idea for something we could run in the pub during the World Cup,” he told SLTN.

“But it’s taken off. There’s about 20 bars and restaurants on board at the moment, which is brilliant. It would be great to get others from across Scotland too.”
