Hamlet hotel in Argyll to reopen

Glendaruel
New owners planning unit’s restoration

A HUSBAND and wife team has taken over the former Glendaruel Hotel, near the villages of Kames and Tighnabruaich on Argyll’s “secret coast”.

The 17th century coaching inn in the remote hamlet of Glendaruel has not traded since 2011 and has subsequently fallen into disrepair.

However, the couple have plans to renovate the property, bringing it back into business use, said Cornerstone, which handled the sale.

The freehold had been on the market for £135,000, although the purchase price was not disclosed.
