A COUPLE who worked at Edinburgh’s Castle Terrace restaurant are set to open their own eatery in the city, at the top of Leith Walk.

The Little Chartroom will be a neighbourhood-style bistro, with chef Roberta Hall in the kitchen and Shaun McCarron managing front of house.

Hall, who spent three years working in Michelin-starred The Kitchin before assisting mentor Dominic Jack in the opening of Castle Terrace – where she went on to become head chef – said she intends to serve French British-style cuisine, which “will be simple and seasonal”.

The Little Chartroom, which takes its name from Hall’s love of sailing, will open in June on Albert Place. The eatery will have a “stripped back, yet stylish and comfortable” interior with a “nod to a traditional sailing aesthetic”.
