EDRINGTON-Beam Suntory UK has unveiled new packaging for its flagship single malt, The Macallan.
A new “broad-shouldered” bottle design with a tapered chevron on the neck has been introduced and the bottles now include an ‘anti-refill’ feature to cut down on counterfeits.
As the company looks to make its range consistent across the world, some of the expressions have also been tweaked.
The Macallan 1824 Gold has been brought under the Double Cask range as Double Cask Gold, while the Macallan Fine Oak has been renamed Triple Cask Matured to bring it into line with the Sherry Oak and Double Cask releases and form the core of the new portfolio.
Glen Gribbon, marketing director for The Macallan, said by consolidating the core range “we are able to highlight the variety of whisky coming out of the distillery and encourage new and existing fans to try The Macallan”.
