Latest liqueur in the line-up

Pomegranate & Rose variant launched by Edinburgh Gin

Edinburgh Gin’s Pomegranate & Rose liqueur can be used in cocktails like the Rosette Martini

THE latest addition to Edinburgh Gin’s fruit liqueurs line-up is being rolled out to pubs and bars ahead of summer following an exclusive launch in department store John Lewis late last year.

Said to have been inspired by the Orient, the new 20% ABV Pomegranate & Rose variant is described as an infusion of pomegranate seeds and rose petals; it is said to be best served over ice or in a cocktail such as a Gin Fizz or a Rosette Martini (see recipe below).

The new liqueur joins the other variants in the Edinburgh Gin range – Raspberry, Elderflower, Rhubarb & Ginger and Plum & Vanilla – and, following its launch last year, is said to be “fast becoming one of Edinburgh Gin’s best-selling fruit gin liqueurs”.

Neil Boyd, UK managing director of Ian Macleod Distillers, which bought Edinburgh Gin in 2016, said through its gins and liqueurs the firm is “pioneering a new wave of gin, with the ambition of bringing modernity and creativity to the category”.

Our range of gins and liqueurs aims to bring modernity and creativity to the gin category.

“Pomegranate is associated with decadence, while the addition of rose evokes tastes and aromas of Turkish delight,” he said.

“A lavish and sumptuous fruit gin liqueur, Pomegranate & Rose works perfectly in a Gin Fizz or as a modern twist on a classic Martini.

“Using our classic London Dry Gin as a base, we like to explore and experiment with flavour to create a range that is unique, varied and enriches the gin drinking experience.”
