Time is up for paper notes

Scottish bank notes

BUSINESSES have been reminded that all paper £5 and £10 notes will be withdrawn from circulation on March 1.

After this date, issuing banks (Royal Bank of Scotland, Clydesdale Bank and Bank of Scotland) will accept all Scottish notes from their own customers, which can be deposited or exchanged for polymer notes; the banks have also agreed to exchange their own paper notes from non-customers to a value of £250.
