Biggar hearts have prevailed at hotel

Staff raised over £2500 for charity Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland

THE team at Cornhill Castle hotel near Biggar in South Lanarkshire has raised over £2500 for charity Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.

Staff at the venue, which is part of the Manorview Group, raised the cash from taking part in a number of charity initiatives throughout the year.

The hotel’s receptionist, Nicola Browning, suffered a stroke six years ago when she was 34. This year Nicola, supported by four of her colleagues, took part in a charity abseil from the Forth Bridge which raised £1765 of the final sum, which was £2550.29.

Iain Fleming, general manager of Cornhill Castle, said: “We’re delighted to show support for this great charity and to show support for Nicola. Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland helped our colleague when she needed them. We’re delighted to give something back to them which will help them continue to do the great work they do.”

The Manorview Group has an ongoing charity initiative which sees each of its venues select a charity and work with it to raise funds and increase awareness.
