THE group behind Aberdeen outlets No.10 Bar & Restaurant and McGinty’s Meal An’ Ale has expanded its estate with the acquisition of seafood restaurant The Silver Darling.

Located in Footdee – an area of Aberdeen known locally as ‘Fittie’, The Silver Darling has been owned and run by chef Didier Dejean since 1986 following his relocation from the south of France.

Allan Henderson, director of The McGinty’s Group, said the eatery is considered one of the best seafood restaurants in the city.

“We are truly delighted to welcome the iconic Silver Darling into our growing hospitality portfolio,” he said.

“This a unique venue and one that we have long admired; adding it to our family group is a proud moment for us.

“The Silver Darling has built up a very reputable name in the seafood sector; and, as a ‘Fittie Loon’, I have always held a fond affiliation with the area and what Didier has achieved at The Silver Darling over the last 31 years.”
