Transformed hotel open for business

The revamped Gleddoch hotel and spa

A HOTEL and spa resort on the Clyde estuary has been given a fresh lease of life after a multi-million pound refurbishment.

The revamped Gleddoch hotel and spa, said to be  popular for weddings, now incorporates two luxury suites with views over the River Clyde.

The venue also boasts newly designed modern junior suites and 75 bedrooms, and can host up to 200 guests.

Richard Johal, director at Gleddoch, said: “We saw a great opportunity to breathe new life into the hotel and golf course. It’s been brought up to scratch with all the amenities expected of a top four-star establishment.”

The resort, which also combines an 18-hole championship golf course with four-hole academy course, was formerly the home of shipping baron Sir William Lithgow and sits in over 360 acres of countryside.
