THE chief whisky maker at Isle of Arran Distillers has marked an important milestone with the introduction of a new, limited edition bottling.
James MacTaggart, who has completed ten years with the company and 40 years in the Scotch whisky industry overall, is said to have carefully blended the new expression from a selection of casks filled during his first months of production in 2007.
The James MacTaggart Anniversary Single Malt is bottled at cask strength (54.2% ABV) and described as possessing “a fresh nose with notes of salt combined with lemon oil, pairing the coast of Lochranza with the iconic citrus notes of the Arran malt”.
Commenting on the release, MacTaggart said that the last ten years have been very special for the distillery.
“One of the great pleasures of my job is crafting unique bottlings inspired by the island and its history – a history that I’m proud to be a part of,” he said.
