WEMYSS Malts, the family-owned drinks firm, got into the swing of things earlier this month with a raft of activities around the Ricoh Women’s British Open.

To promote its Darnley’s Gin brand being the ‘official gin supplier’ of the tournament, which took place between August 3 and 6 at Kingsbarns Golf Links, the firm teamed with St Andrews eateries The Doll’s House and Tailend to create menus paired with its gin.

A free bus service to the firm’s new Fife gin distillery was also provided, where visitors could take a £5 ‘G&Tee’ tour.

Meanwhile, the company’s whisky distillery, Kingsbarns, has secured a five-star rating from VisitScotland.

The facility, which was initially graded at four stars when it opened in 2015, offers whisky tours, an exhibition and tastings.

Both Darnley’s Gin and Kingsbarns Distillery are owned by the Wemyss family.
