GETTING the food just right is obviously an essential aspect of any barbecue, but serving the right drinks is arguably just as important.
In recognition of this, Diageo is promoting a number of serves to accompany barbecue dishes this summer.
The Smirnoff Skyball, which combines Smirnoff vodka with lemon juice and lemonade, is paired with sausages or burgers, while the Spiced Pineapple Mule – with Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold, ginger beer and pineapple juice – is matched with blackened barbecue chicken.
The Gordon’s Garden G&T, a gin and tonic which includes a splash of apple juice, is advised as a match for pulled pork or ribs.
