Another slice for the capital

THE team behind Italian street food and pizza bar Civerinos on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile has opened a second restaurant in the city.

The new 80-cover eatery, Civerinos Slice, shares a similar design-led interior to its sister restaurant, with communal tables to encourage the sharing of food.

The lower level of the Forrest Road outlet includes a dough preparation and production unit, which will become the “epi-centre for both restaurants”; it’s estimated that it will produce no less than 1500 pizzas per day to for Civerinos and Civerinos Slice.

New Civerinos Slice offers a menu of 17 recipes available either as 20” pizzas or individual slices; and a range of slushee cocktails, frozen wine drinks, craft beers and Italian wines.

Michele Civiera, founder of Civerinos and Civerinos Slice, said: “We’re working with the very best pizza chefs – from Sardinia to Sicily – to ensure Civernos’ pizzas continue to have an authentic Italian edge and remain a firm favourite in Edinburgh and beyond.”
