Maltese lager arrives in UK

BEER and wine importer Morgenrot has expanded its portfolio with the addition of Mediterranean lager brand Cisk.
The 4.2% ABV beer, which is available to the on-trade in 30-litre kegs and cases of 24 x 33cl bottles, has been produced in Malta since 1929.
It is described as a golden lager, with a rich hop aroma and a “pleasant bitterness”.
Morgenrot commercial director, John Critchley, said Cisk is “a premium imported Mediterranean lager and is a great fit for us”.
“With the summer already on the horizon, we’re confident the brewery’s pursuit of quality and unique heritage will be a popular choice for operators and consumers,” said Critchley.
Michael Farrugia, company director at Simonds Farsons Cisk, said the brewer is “confident that with our beer’s quality and Morgenrot’s energy and expertise, we can do amazing things in the UK market”.
