Chance to break for the Borders

THE County Hotel in the Borders town of Selkirk is up for sale.
The nine-bedroom hotel has two bars, a brasserie, a 110-capacity function room and the adjoining Grapevine restaurant; there’s also owner’s accommodation.
Stuart Drysdale, associate director at Christie & Co, which is handling the sale, said: “The hotel currently experiences year-round trade with 70% occupancy; this, along with the further opportunity to grow the business with the adjoining restaurant included on a separate lease agreement, makes it suitable for either experienced or first-time buyers who are looking to continue a very well-established operation.”
