A birthday for the achievers

Scottish Wholesale Association gears up for awards

THE Scottish Wholesale Association is gearing up for a landmark awards show this month with the 15th annual Scottish Wholesale Achievers.
The event celebrates the best of the Scottish wholesale industry across over one dozen categories, including Best Licensed Wholesaler, Best Cash and Carry and Best Marketing Initiative.

It’s hard to believe that this is the 15th anniversary of Achievers.

This year’s gala dinner takes place at the Sheraton Grand in Edinburgh next Thursday (February 9) and will be hosted by BBC Scotland presenter Catriona Shearer.
Kate Salmon, executive director of the Scottish Wholesale Association, said it’s “hard to believe that this is the 15th anniversary of Achievers”.
“The fact that our awards continue to go from strength to strength confirms that they remain relevant to the industry and are a fantastic showcase for everything that is great about wholesale in Scotland,” said Salmon.
Following on from Scottish Wholesale Achievers, the association will host its 2017 Annual Conference at Crieff Hydro over June 9-11.
Speakers expected to attend include Marc Crothall, chief executive of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, Tim Clay, sales director for Asahi UK, Laura McKechnie, associate director of Coca-Cola European Partners and keynote speaker Ruth Davidson, leader of the Scottish Conservatives.
This year’s conference will adopt a different format from previous years, kicking-off with a gala banquet dinner taking place on Friday (June 9), with the Saturday adopting a sporting theme to accommodate the Scotland v England World Cup qualifying match at Hampden.
