Pubs urged to capitalise on Glasgow derby


BROADCASTER BT Sport is making advertising materials available to its subscribers to help them make the most of this weekend’s Old Firm clash.

Licensees are able to access the materials, which include downloadable posters as well as images that can be Tweeted or posted on Facebook, through the BT Sport website. The assets will be available from Thursday 20 October.

“The Old Firm derby is always a must see game for football fans in Scotland and any time Rangers and Celtic come together it is a massive occasion on the football calendar,” said John Vincent, marketing manager, pubs and clubs, at BT Sport.

“Hopefully publicans will see Sunday’s game as an opportunity to boost trade this weekend and fans from both sides who can’t make it to the game will hopefully want to enjoy the game in their local pubs to get a taste of a proper match day atmosphere.”
