Wholesaler Matthew Clark has bolstered its premium wine portfolio by taking on wines from a raft of international producers.
New additions to the company’s range include wines from Spain, Greece, Australia, Argentina and California.
Examples include the wholesaler’s first Greek wines, The Moschcofilero-Roditis and Agiogitiko from producer Katogi & Strofilia; Albariño producer Santiago Ruiz; Larry Cherubino Wines from the southern half of western Australia; and Argentinian wine producer, Alpasión, which produces Uco Valley Wines.
There are also various Californian wines including: Freemark Abbey; Rutherford Hill winery; Tangley Oaks; Sonoma Coast winery; Wild Ridge; and the Federalist Wines.
The buying team at Matthew Clark cited the stories behind each wine as an important factor when it came to selecting the new products.
Judith Nicholson, Matthew Clark’s wine buying co-ordinator, said: “We always look to bring in great wines, and great wines with stories are even better.
“Stories help a wine sell – they make it more memorable for the consumer, and they make wine more exciting and more personable.”
