GOLF fans could find their feet in Prestwick where a pub touted as the birthplace of The Open has come onto the market.
The Red Lion, which is said to have traded for almost 200 years and is claimed to have been a haunt of Open founder Old Tom Morris, has been put up for sale following a refurbishment and relaunch.
Paul Shiells, director of licensed and leisure at Colliers International in Scotland, said the Red Lion is “thriving”, describing it as a “highly desirable licensed business returning substantial sales and bottom line profits”.
Colliers International is marketing the Red Lion with a guide price of ÂŁ1.1 million.
