A HIGHLAND distillery unveiled a rare single malt whisky last month which is said to have been distilled in 1971.
The 44 year old single cask Tomatin is the first of the distillery’s new Warehouse 6 Collection, which is said to contain some of its most refined spirits.
Bottled at a strength of 45.8% ABV, the whisky is described as having “aromas of almond, plum, ginger cake and marzipan merged with warm flavours of caramel, dark chocolate, coffee and winter fruits before a rich, refined, lingering finish”.
The malt comes in a crystal decanter decorated with copper along with two crystal tumblers to “reflect its exclusivity”.
