Race is on for Scottish gin

The team behind Edinburgh-based Daffy’s Gin has moved its marketing activity up a gear thanks to a partnership with the Manor Racing Formula 1 team.

The Scottish gin brand has joined forces with the racing outfit in a sponsorship deal which will see the Daffy’s logo displayed on the turning vanes of the F1 team’s two cars, exposing Daffy’s to a global audience.
As part of the agreement, Daffy’s will co-host a number of events around the 2016 FIA Formula One World Championship calendar, and a limited edition Manor Racing Daffy’s Gin bottle is set to be launched in late spring.
Chris Molyneaux, master distiller and co-founder of Daffy’s, said there is a “striking synergy” between the Daffy’s team and Manor Racing.
“In our individual fields, we’re smaller, independent players that aim and dream big,” said Molyneaux.
“There’s a shared passion and love of life and travel, but also a steely determination to stay true to our end ambition and create something exceptional.”
Abdulla Boulsien, of Manor Racing, said the spirit of Daffy’s “perfectly captures the old world glamour and parties that accompanied British racing’s heyday”.
“I’m sure that together Manor Racing and Daffy’s are going to have a memorable year on and off the racetrack,” said Boulsien.
Daffy’s Gin was launched in 2014 by master distiller Chris Molyneaux and his wife Mignonne.
