Scottish darts player Ross ‘The Boss’ Montgomery joined East Kilbride Football Club manager Billy Ogilvie, players Scott Stevenson and Jacob Kean, and pub manager David McAuley to cut the ribbon at the pub’s official opening last month.
Situated at the Brouster Gate entrance to the Princes Mall shopping centre, The Hay Stook was created following a £1.5 million revamp of a former retail unit.
The pub majors in real ales, and stocks a range of craft and world beers in draught and bottled formats.
The venue, which has a covered beer garden at the front of the premises, features historical photos and information on local history as well as artwork by local artists.
Wetherspoon, which now has more than 70 outlets in Scotland, is set to open in Largs and Edinburgh in the coming months.
