Rugby club fundraiser returns for its sixth year this May

The Perth Beer Festival will return for its sixth year this May, offering visitors the chance to sample a range of beers from breweries across Scotland.

• Brewers from across Scotland will be on hand at Perth’s North Inch for the beer festival.

Last year’s festival attracted over 15 brewers and this year’s event, which takes place on May 7 at Perth’s North Inch, is expected to offer a similar range along with a selection of wines.
Organisers Perthshire Rugby Football Club also announced that this year’s festival will include live music with a bill topped by funk and soul cover band Big Vern & The Shootahs.
The Perth Beer Festival is also a family-friendly event and will feature a “kid’s zone” where young visitors can “run off steam and learn a few rugby moves”.
Allan Brown, chief executive of Perthshire Rugby Football Club, said the organisation is “delighted by how much the festival has grown and developed” since the first event in 2011.
“It’s a real community event and a chance for people of all ages to come together, eat, drink and have fun,” he said.
“We are looking for event sponsors, keg donations and local business support to ensure that our sixth festival is as much of a success as previous ones.
“They can be assured that the money raised goes to a great cause, which is to increase the profile of rugby in our community.
“In particular we raise funds for programmes like Try Rugby, which promotes rugby in Perthshire schools.”
