Morgenrot, the firm behind Krombacher in the UK, is kicking-off a year of activity for the brand with the launch of a low ABV variant of the German beer.
Krombacher Radler, a 2.5% ABV beer, comprises 50% original Krombacher Pils and 50% lemonade which is said to have been developed at the Krombacher brewery.
Activity around the brand is set to continue throughout 2016, in a series of events celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reinheitsgebot – the purity laws adhered to by breweries in Germany.
Stephan Kofler, sales and marketing director for Krombacher in the UK, said the brand has seen “tremendous double-digit growth” in recent years and reckons the new Radler beer will help maintain that momentum.
