A buyer is sought for an established accommodation business in the heart of Burns country.
The Stair Inn in the parish of Stair, near Ayr, is said to provide “comfortable accommodation” in a rustic setting.
Located near to Ayrshire’s golf courses, beaches, historical attractions and close to Prestwick Airport, the property has six letting rooms, a bar and a 45-cover restaurant.
There is also a beer garden and patio area; and the property has its own smokehouse, which could provide any new operator with an additional income stream.
Current owners David and Catherine Birrell acquired the property in 2004 and prior to this the couple owned and operated the Cuilfail Hotel on the outskirts of Oban.
Brian Sheldon, director at the Edinburgh office of selling agent Christie & Co, said: “The Stair Inn is an established and renowned business within the Ayrshire region. Much time, effort and expense has gone into the development and refurbishment of the business. The inn also has the added attraction of a smokehouse facility to enable potential owners to smoke fish and meat for customers and possibly for selling on a commercial/website basis.”
Offers in the region of £575,000 are sought for the freehold.
