Former Ivy head chef goes to press

010_Des McDonxaldA former head chef at The Ivy in London is set to open his first restaurant in Scotland.
Des McDonald said The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen on George Street, Edinburgh, promises “the finest ingredients” Scotland’s larder has to offer.
McDonald has 20 years of experience running London venues and is the former chief executive of Caprice Holdings, which operates restaurants across London.
Fife-born Colin Fleming has been recruited as head chef for the 180-cover Edinburgh restaurant, which opens on October 22.
Fleming said: “We have worked lovingly on each and every dish to craft food that showcases some of the very best Scottish produce.
“The menu is shaped by the seasons and by our ambition to create a distinctive food offering.”
