Tourism stays strong

SCOTTISH tourism continues  to perform “exceptionally well” amid “very challenging” economic times for many other countries, according to VisitScotland chairman Mike Cantlay.

His comments came after new figures showed the number of domestic visits to Scotland between January and March this year was up by 29%, while domestic spend increased 49%. The number of overseas visits in the three month period was down 1%, however spend increased 13%.
