EPOS firm Zonal has unveiled plans to facilitate Apple Pay payments – allowing outlets to accept contactless payments from customers using various Apple products.
Apple Pay will be available to Zonal customers via the firm’s ZCPS system.
Zonal chief executive Stuart Mclean said there is a demand for contactless payment, and “half of 18-44 year-olds say they are ready to use a mobile to speed up payment”.
“Mobile phone contactless payments are considered to be more secure than traditional card-based contactless payments as each payment needs to be authenticated, which should give consumers the extra confidence they need,” said Mclean.
