FROM Merseyside to Speyside – former Liverpool striker Michael Owen experienced the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival first hand earlier this month with a visit to Speyside Distillery on the final day of the event.
Since retiring from professional football, Owen has taken on the role of global brand ambassador for Spey whisky.
Owen, who has been promoting the brand in Asia, participated in a tasting session of four single malt expressions led by distillery manager Sandy Jamieson.
The former England international said it was “great to be able to visit the distillery and be with my Spey family as they celebrate being part of the festival for the first time”.
