THE firm behind Bombay Sapphire has launched a ‘super premium’ expression of the gin.
Star of Bombay is infused with the same eight botanicals used in all Bombay gins with the addition of dried bergamot orange peel and ambrette seed.
The new botanicals, combined with a higher ABV of 47.5%, are said to ‘elevate’ the top-note aromatics present in Bombay gin.
Ivano Tonutti, master of botanicals for Bombay Sapphire, said the gin was created following “painstaking flavour trials” to achieve “the precise quantities and qualities that could interact with all the other botanicals and integrate into the heart of the gin”.
