Hotel with adjacent land offers scope for development
Operators keen to move into Speyside might be interested in a hotel and plot of land which has come onto the books of Colliers International.
Garth Hotel & Restaurant, situated on the main street of Grantown-on-Spey, is for sale along with a “substantial” area of land to the rear and the adjacent Gladstone House, which is said to offer development potential.
The hotel, which has been owned and managed by the WKW Partnership for the last 17 years, comprises 18 letting bedrooms, a bar and restaurant, lounge and two private meeting rooms.
The bar and restaurant area is said to offer an a la carte menu with a selected wine list and a range of 60 whiskies.
The property also has a meeting and function space which can be used for weddings and other events.
Planning consent is said to have been granted for the refurbishment of Gladstone House to develop a five-bedroom and two-bedroom house and 12 new self-catering holiday units to the rear of the hotel.
Property agent Colliers International reckons the site offers potential.
The firm’s Alistair Letham, who is marketing the hotel, house and land for offers around £975,000, said the hotel is “well-established and popular”.
“This provides an excellent development opportunity for new owners to create a leisure destination, alongside the Garth Hotel,” he said.
