WILLIAM Grant & Sons, the family-owned drinks company, has bought the firm which owns the Drambuie whisky liqueur.
Wm Grant said the Drambuie Liqueur Company is a “natural addition” to its portfolio, which includes the Glenfiddich and The Balvenie single malts, blended Scotch Grant’s, Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey and Sailor Jerry spiced rum.
Stella David, chief executive of William Grant & Sons, said: “It [Drambuie] has a very rich history and a great story to tell and we are delighted to be in a position to start to re-engage with existing drinkers and to connect the brand with an entirely new generation of consumers.”
Drambuie’s CEO Michael Kennedy said Wm Grant & Sons will “help nurture Drambuie to begin its next chapter of growth”.
