• Iggy Pop has helped create The Flash Collection with Sailor Jerry.

SPICED rum brand Sailor Jerry has joined forces with rock icon Iggy Pop to launch a new clothing collection.

The Flash Collection by Iggy Pop created by Sailor Jerry Clothing is inspired by the legendary tattoo flash of Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins – the tatooist who is said to have inspired the brand.
It is part of an annual collaboration between the spiced rum brand and a like-minded artist; the first involved musician Paul Simonon of The Clash fame who helped create a limited edition leather jacket.
This year’s collection will feature three limited-edition items including a “hero piece” which is described as “an iconic denim vest”.
Enda O’Sullivan, global brand director for Sailor Jerry, said: “Having Iggy Pop on board for this year’s Flash Collection is a huge deal for us.
“Iggy is not only a talented musician, but also a respected style icon whose rebellious approach to life is exactly what Sailor Jerry stands for.
“Having seen initial designs, we are really excited about Iggy’s vision and can’t wait to unveil the collection in Miami this October.”
The Lust for Life singer’s classic Stooges song TV Eye is also the soundtrack of the Life Outside The Lines advertising campaign for the spiced rum.
Iggy said: “When I was asked to be involved with the latest Flash Collection, I was intrigued right away.
“I fell in love with the pin-ups. Sailor Jerry’s pin-ups are the best.
“Bringing his stuff to life for a collection of limited edition clothes was something I totally wanted to be a part of.”
