WHAT is claimed to be the first gin and single malt distillery in Glasgow for more than a century has opened its doors.
The Glasgow Distillery Company’s first spirit is Makar Glasgow Gin, which takes its name from the Scottish word for poet or bard.
The company, which is headed by drinks industry veteran Liam Hughes and accountant Ian McDougall as well as an Asia-based investor, aims to start producing whisky next month.
