TENNENT Caledonian is gearing up for a ‘record’ number of visitors to its Wellpark brewery in Glasgow this summer.
The company has recruited five additional tour guides and will run brewery tours three times a day, seven days a week for the duration of the Commonwealth Games.
It claims to have received a significant increase in tour bookings in recent weeks, from as far away as the United States and Australia.
Marketing director Paul Condron said the firm aims to establish Wellpark as a ‘must see’ for visitors.
“Bonnie Prince Charlie dropped in for a pint in 1745 but more recently the majority of tour enquiries have come from overseas as tourists plan their visit to Scotland,” he said.
“With our location at the east end of the city centre, we’re perfectly positioned to add to the Glasgow visitor experience during the Games.”
