SCOTLAND’s hotel market is outperforming the rest of the UK in terms of occupancy and average room rate, according to Christie Finance.

Speaking after the finance firm arranged a £1.5 million funding package for its client, Park Hotel Ayrshire Ltd, to acquire the 50-bedroom Park Hotel in Kilmarnock, associate director Craig Dickson said the buoyancy of the hotels sector is expected to continue for the rest of the year. “The Scottish hotel market appears to be performing well when compared to the rest of the UK, with occupancy and average room rate ahead year on year so far,” he said.
