SCOTTISH-based chef Tom Beauchamp is set to take on rivals from across the UK after winning the Scottish heat of the Sodexo Chef of the Year competition.
Beauchamp, who worked with Michelin Star chefs Andrew Fairlie and Raymond Blanc before joining Sodexo, is the development chef with Prestige Venues and Events, the company’s event catering division.
“This is the first time I’ve ever taken part in a competition, so I was really pleased to win the Scottish heats, even though it did leave me with a huge pile of washing up,” he said.
He will now compete against Sodexo chefs from across the UK at the Chef of the Year final, to be held as part of the Hotelympia show in London next month.
