EDINBURGH operator I@G Events has taken on its second Star Pubs & Bars outlet in six months.
The firm took on the lease for the Spiders Web pub in the capital’s west end after acquiring the William McEwans Alehouse on Clerk Street in May. The Alehouse was rebranded as McSorleys (pictured) as part of a jointly-funded £155,000 refurbishment; I@G and the pubco have planned a £400,000 refurbishment of the Spiders Web for 2014.
“We liked the fact that Star Pubs & Bars were willing to work together with us to turn these sites around and make them a great success,” said Iain Pert of I@G Events.
