THE Scotch Whisky Association has lodged an appeal against the Court of Session ruling that minimum pricing is legal.
In his judgement earlier this month Lord Doherty said that setting a minimum unit price for alcohol is “within the powers of Scottish ministers” and “not incompatible with EU law”.
The legislation was passed by the Scottish Parliament last May but its implementation has been delayed after the SWA sought the judicial review at the Court of Session.
The SWA confirmed last week it has filed the notice of appeal against the ruling.
