WINE has become a major opportunity for the wholesale sector, according to Inverarity Morton.
The Glasgow-based wholesaler claims to have experienced strong growth in wine sales in recent months, and is advising its customers to make the most of the category.
“Wine for us remains a strong growth area and we’re recommending that our clients offer an absolute minimum of three whites and reds, plus a rose and sparkling, with a wider list for more food-driven places,” said the wholesaler’s operations director Donald Campbell.
Campbell also stressed the importance of staff training, saying that it has become a major focus for the company.
“Training is a major strength of ours and there is sound proof that continued investment in staff training helps operators improve their bottom line.”
