THE search for Scotland’s top food and drink firms is underway.

The Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards 2013 were launched last week by Hardeep Singh Kohli, who will hand out the prizes at Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms on May 30.
Businesses across Scotland’s food and drink industry are being encouraged to enter the scheme, which features 17 different categories including nine food and drink taste awards, and titles for Scottish Food & Drink Entrepreneur and Export Business of the Year. Entries for the awards, organised by Scotland Food & Drink in partnership with The Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland and sponsored by Asda, are being taken until March 29.
“There is real value in entering the awards – last year’s winners enjoyed tangible benefits including publicity, new opportunities and a boost to sales,” said Scotland Food & Drink chief executive James Withers.
“We have any number of successes in our industry and I would encourage companies of all types and sizes to seek the recognition they deserve.”
