Curfew lifted in Highlands

HIGHLAND licensing board has scrapped the midnight curfew it imposed on nightclubs.

The board abolished the door entry restriction, which prevented late night venues from admitting revellers after midnight, last month.
Thirteen nightclubs across Inverness, Aviemore, Thurso and Dingwall had their licences varied to remove the condition ahead of the festive period.
“I understand from patrons and some licensees that the abolition of the curfew door entry policy is now working well and there have been no detrimental effects from dropping it,” said board convener Maxine Smith.
